Play therapy is a method of understanding and meeting the mental health needs of children. Children sometimes don’t have the ability or a way to express what they are going through. Activity therapy uses different ways to help children express themselves and learn coping skills.

During the session which usually lasts for 45 minutes, your child/adolescent will play board games, card games, physical games and art to help your child  to express themselves. Play therapy is usually used between the ages of 5 to 14 years old and can be used for a number of difficulties such as Anxiety, aggression, grief, divorce, learning new coping or social skills.

Families play a huge part of any activity or play therapy and your clinician might ask you to join session where appropriate.
